Experience the rugged beauty of Buckskin Gulch, the world's longest slot canyon. Bring your own horses on an unforgettable horseback riding adventure. Traverse the mesmerizing canyons and countryside, surrounded by red rock landscapes, immersing yourself in the unique geological wonders that define southern Utah. With your equine companions, explore scenic trails that wind through breathtaking canyons and expansive vistas, creating memories that blend the thrill of riding with the natural splendor of this iconic destination that defines the heart of the American Southwest.
Bring your own horse and we will take care of the rest. Meals around the campfire with fellow equestrians sharing a love for trail riding, nature, horses, and adventure.
Stalls at each camp site allow you to camp out right next to your horse! Please read the GUEST HORSE GUIDELINES if you plan to bring your horse. Horses must be a minimum of 4 years old, and stallions are not allowed. Owners are responsible for their own feed, cleaning, and care.
Riders of any discipline are welcome, but must be saddled (no bareback riding with the group). Riders must bring all their own tack, equipment, and feed.
Intermediate-Advanced. Since riders are bringing their own horses, a minimum of intermediate level riding is required. Accompanying non-riders are welcome to join for camping and meals.
Speed: Due to the technical terrain, these trails will be mostly walking.
Distance: There are several trail loop options and the riding distance will depend on the group. Approximately 5-15 miles.
Ride Time: 3-6 hours
Trailering: Some trailheads must be accessed by trailering out from the campground. They are located 5-30 minutes away and sometimes on well-maintained but unpaved roads.
The terrain in southern Utah is rocky, often steep or narrow, although the canyons are mostly sandy. Horses and riders should be prepared for challenging terrain. Horseshoes/boots are always recommended for more difficult trails.
Extra activities offered during the week:
Yoga
Art / painting (this will be a separate activity for which riders will need to pre-order materials)
Hiking (in addition to riding, we will drive to another spot to hike 1 day)
Camp in a tent or trailer/camper in spacious sites alongside your horses. Dry sites are available as well as sites with hookups.
Cabins are available to rent, and are a great option for those who prefer not to camp. We will also be renting a bunkhouse where we will be making meals, which has room for several guests.
Hearty breakfasts and dinners around the campfire will be provided. Guests must provide their own lunches, snacks, and alcoholic beverages. Dietary restrictions, allergies, vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free can all be accommodated with advanced notice.
Transportation to/from the campground and to/from trailheads
Available to rent
