Bring your own horse and we will take care of the rest. Meals around the campfire with fellow equestrians sharing a love for trail riding, nature, horses, and adventure.
Please read the GUEST HORSE GUIDELINES if you plan to bring your horse. Owners are responsible for their own feed, cleaning, and care. All horses will be stabled in the barn.
Riders of any discipline are welcome, but horses must be saddled (no bareback riding with the group). Riders must bring all their own tack, equipment, and feed. Trip leaders reserve the right to bar any rider from joining a group ride if their horse's behavior is not compatible with riding in a group.
Intermediate-Advanced. Since riders are bringing their own horses, a minimum of intermediate level riding is required. Accompanying non-riders are welcome to join for camping and meals. There are plenty of hiking, biking, and sightseeing options nearby.
Distance: There are several trail options and the riding distance will depend on the group. Approximately 5-15 miles each day. Some rides will depart from the campground and some rides will require trailering to trailheads. There are rental trailers available for those bringing LQ trailers who do not wish to move them once they are set up.
Ride Time: 3-6 hours
The terrain in South Dakota can be rocky and steep. Horses and riders should be prepared for challenging terrain. Horseshoes/boots are always recommended for more difficult trails.
